Jane teaches pupils ranging in age from five to sixty, tailoring lessons to their individual aspirations. For some, this involves preparing for graded exams with Trinity or the ABRSM, while for others the focus is on playing in rock or jazz bands, developing improvisation skills, playing by ear, and understanding chords and chord symbols. She also regularly organises pupils’ concerts, which are enjoyable occasions that build confidence, provide valuable performance experience, and create a strong sense of community through shared music-making. She has been teaching for many years at St George’s School, Fettes College and at her home in Portobello.

"There’s real joy in walking alongside pupils as they grow, from their starting point to the fulfilment of their goals"
